Services

Our primary goal is to ensure that victimized persons receive immediate intervention, support and assistance with regard to their primary needs.

This includes providing assistance of a compassionate nature, provision of appropriate referrals, and maintaining positive police and community partnerships.

Victim Crisis Response Program

The Victim Crisis Response Program assists people in crisis, 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the immediate aftermath of a crime or tragedy. The program offers crisis intervention, practical support and referrals to community agencies for long-term assistance. With the consent of the victim, emergency responders can arrange for our staff to provide on-site assistance to victims. We can provide crisis intervention on-site or via telephone.

Victim Quick Response Program

Funded by the Ministry of the Attorney General, Victim Services may provide practical assistance to victims of crime through the Victim Quick Response Program +. Eligibility criteria are set out by the Ministry of the Attorney General. Expense supports are available for emergency home safety expenses, funeral costs, crime scene clean-up, short-term counselling and more.

High Risk Support Services

The High Risk Support Services Program promotes the safety of individuals and their families who are at high risk of experiencing re-victimization or violence by an intimate ex-partner. Victim Service Workers work with clients to create comprehensive safety plans, reassess safety options as circumstances change, as well as provide advocacy, court accompaniment, and linkages to community supports.

Public and Professional Education

Sudbury and Area Victim Services offers a variety of educational and awareness building presentations for community members, agencies, businesses and schools.
